The short version
The apps themselves collect no personal data: there are no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting, and the apps never send data to any server we operate. The one exception is buying the Android full game on this website, which involves your email address; it is described under "Buying the Android full game" below. On iOS, the only data that leaves your device goes through two Apple services, iCloud and Game Center, and we cannot see it. The Android version cannot use the network at all.
What we collect
The apps collect nothing. Your game progress stays on your device, or on iOS syncs between your own devices through your iCloud account as described below. If you buy the Android full game on this website, we also keep your email address and order, as described under "Buying the Android full game".
On-device AI (ARIA)
On iOS 26 and later, ARIA uses Apple Foundation Models for on-device inference. All inference runs locally on your device using Apple's framework. No game state, board data, or ARIA responses are sent to any server — by us or by Apple — as part of normal gameplay. Apple's own privacy policy governs the Foundation Models framework.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app syncs game progress between your devices using iCloud key-value storage. The synced data is limited to best mission scores, your daily incident streak and last-played day, Field Ops progress (unlocked and completed levels, last level played), and Field Ops credits. Settings such as audio volume stay on the device. This data is stored by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot access it. To turn off sync, sign out of iCloud or turn off iCloud for Zero Day Command in iOS Settings.
Game Center
Game Center is off until you turn it on. The app asks once at first launch, and you can change your choice at any time in the in-game Settings. When it is on, the app submits leaderboard scores (operations cleared, daily streak, daily score, credit bank) and achievements to Game Center. Game Center shows your nickname and scores to other players according to your Game Center settings, under Apple's privacy policy.
Android
The Android version is a preview, offered as a direct download from this site. It asks for no permission to use your contacts, files, location, camera, microphone or the network: it does not declare the INTERNET permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. It uses no Google services.
Your game progress (best mission scores, the daily incident streak and credits) is saved in the app's private storage on your phone, where other apps cannot read it. The app turns Android backups off, so the saves are not copied to a cloud backup. It does not sync with the iOS version, and uninstalling the app deletes the saves.
ARIA on Android shows the pre-written advisory text built into the game. There is no AI model and nothing is sent to any server.
Buying the Android full game
The Android full game, an optional one-time unlock of Chapters 11 to 15, is bought on this website, not in the app. The app itself never connects to anything: it only checks a licence on your phone with no network connection. This section applies once the unlock goes on sale.
You pay in your browser through Stripe, which processes the payment and gives us your email address, the amount paid and the order. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it holds, and we never see your card details.
We keep your email address, the order number, the amount, the date and the licence we issued, in a database at Amazon Web Services in the United States. We use them to email you the licence, to send it again if you ask on this website, to handle a refund, and to keep the tax and accounting records the law requires. The licence is emailed through Amazon SES. We do not use your email address for anything else, we send no marketing, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone but Stripe and Amazon Web Services acting for us.
The licence is a short piece of text. Entering it in the app unlocks the chapters; the app checks it on your phone and saves it on your phone only. To ask us to delete your order record, use the support page; we may have to keep the minimum needed for tax and accounting records.
Game saves and data
Game saves and settings are stored on your device. On iOS, if you use iCloud Backup, your device backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Third-party SDKs
Zero Day Command uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The iOS app uses only Apple's own system frameworks. The Android app is built with Android's open-source Jetpack libraries and the open-source JNA library, which lets the game call its own native code. None of them collect or send data.
Children
Zero Day Command is rated 4+ on the App Store. The apps collect no data from anyone, including children. Game Center has its own parental controls under Screen Time.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
